About Us

The Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association

The Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit volunteer organization. We operate under the oversight of a board of directors made up of Christian homeschooling parents who have demonstrated leadership skills, a servant’s heart and experience with various sports. These men and women are committed to the Lord Jesus Christ, their local church and the homeschool community.

Founded in 1992 by the Tri-Cities Home Educators support group and incorporated in 1999, CVHAA purposes to encourage the development of God-given athletic and leadership abilities. We have homeschool youth from the Richmond and tri-cities area.

We come from many Christian denominational backgrounds and homeschool for varied reasons, but our common bond is our concern for our families and the physical education of our children. We exist to encourage our children to develop aptitude in sports and Christ-like character while interacting with others in an organized athletic setting.

Our Goals

  • To provide the opportunity for Homeschool students of middle and high school ages to play on competitive junior varsity and varsity athletic teams.  We participate in the Virginia Christian Athletic Association (VCAA) and against other private schools.
  • To instruct younger students in the proper development of the physical and mental skills necessary to prepare them to participate as JV and Varsity athletes.
  • To maintain membership in good standing and foster relationships characterized by integrity in all spheres of influence.
